My lovely host Dreamhost (use promotional code 2DOMAINS4LIFE if you’re interested, you’ll get 2 free domains forever!) happily added and turned on the wp-cache plug-in on my Wordpress install. Now, don’t get me wrong, this is rather handy as I notice the site zips along remarkably fast; however, it makes it very annoying to update the layout of the site.

When I try to add something to the site - for example change the rss link to use my feedburner link - the change won’t occur for another 5 or 6 minutes as I have to wait for the cache to expire. This can make updating my site very, very slow…

Anyway, I need to get back to setting up promotional stuff for this site before going to the cinema. I’ll be going to see Untraceable, which looks rather good. So if it turns out to be a load of crud, expect a post in a few hours!

Finally the domain transfer is complete, if you try to go to the old webpage you will go to this domain… well I hope so anyway!

Now all I need to set up is the gallery and some other stuff (highly informative, that’s me.) Then we can get down to writing proper posts, and not just silly little notes.

I successfully registered 406NotAcceptable.com and am impatiently waiting for DNS servers to update, I know it will probably take a few days, but I’d like it to be working NOW!

Hence I’ve held back on adding any more widgets or flashy stuff to the site. There’s not much point in messing around with the install if I have to re-mess around tomorrow, or even in 5 minutes. However, I can still post as importing posts between Wordpress installs is pretty easy.

Anyhow, I think I’ll be off to grab a pita bread and go to sleep. There’s no point in giving away too many updates in one day, you people (slash no-one) will come to expect activity!

Sometimes google just isn’t enough, sometimes we need to get a map out.

I definitely need to do some more work on this site, but for now I am waiting on my domain name to spread across the internet. For one, does anybody keep this theme for longer than 5 minutes? Probably not, I may have to go against that trend (6 minutes here we come!) More plugins would be nice too, but most of them look better with a populated site, such as the archive and recent comments plugins.

Anyway, I do love this wysiwyg (wizzywig!) posting thing, makes Postnuke look around 10 years out of date. Didn’t the News Pro (is that even the name?) script have this is like 1997 or so?

Or I’ll give you an asbo.

I’ve just installed some (supposedly) nasty anti-spam plugins, so I hope they work! Otherwise I’ll get a bunch of keyboard hoodies and script kiddies spamming me, oh noes!
