Caching can be annoying
Posted by Jim on February 29th, 2008 filed in internet, site newsMy lovely host Dreamhost (use promotional code 2DOMAINS4LIFE if you’re interested, you’ll get 2 free domains forever!) happily added and turned on the wp-cache plug-in on my Wordpress install. Now, don’t get me wrong, this is rather handy as I notice the site zips along remarkably fast; however, it makes it very annoying to update the layout of the site.
When I try to add something to the site - for example change the rss link to use my feedburner link - the change won’t occur for another 5 or 6 minutes as I have to wait for the cache to expire. This can make updating my site very, very slow…
Anyway, I need to get back to setting up promotional stuff for this site before going to the cinema. I’ll be going to see Untraceable, which looks rather good. So if it turns out to be a load of crud, expect a post in a few hours!
Silly post of the week: Vending Machines… grr…
